Modern mothers are family accountants, drivers, advisors, referees, and sometimes breadwinners. With so much work to do, many mothers put down the task of cooking family meals on their priority list. But some mothers have found creative ways to produce delicious, healthy, home-style food, without the need to be a slave to a hot stove all day. The solution? Food assembly.
Food assembling is a technique of using prepared and pre-packaged food as a shortcut when preparing home-style food. Some ingenious mothers are able to turn ordinary food bought from department stores and supermarkets into delicious food. Do not believe us? Here are a few suggestions:
1) Take a bag of previously washed salad vegetables and some vegetables from the production section, a packet of walnuts or a small bottle of olives from the snack aisle, a can of tuna from a canned food section, and a bottle of vegetables. salad dressing like a farm or vinaigrette from the dressing aisle. Mix them in a salad bowl for healthy side dishes for two or snacks for one.
2) Make stir-fried chicken quickly with pan-fried stir-fried chicken and vegetables that have been sliced beforehand from the aisle producing soy sauce and sesame oil from the Asian food section. Add salt and pepper to taste and serve with rice cooked in the microwave.
3) Have children who hate vegetables? Tricking them into eating it with a layer of fresh broccoli or cauliflower from the production section in between some sliced processed cheese like Velveeta in a baking pan. Bake the dish in a conventional oven (microwave also works, but not really) for a few minutes on low heat, until the cheese melts. Chill for a few minutes, and serve.
4) Fry some ready-to-use chicken fingers from the frozen food section. Then, cook a small pasta package according to package instructions. Finally, saute a bottle of tomato or pasta sauce in a little oil with a few slices of onion and green peppers. Pour the sauce over chicken and pasta for a party inspired by Italy.
5) Take a packet of seafood ramen noodles from the Asian food section, then go to the seafood section to look for dried frozen shrimp and sliced squid. Finally, get a few packages of frozen vegetables such as corn, carrots and peas. Prepare ramen noodles according to package instructions, add shrimp halfway through the cooking process, and add vegetables near the end. Enjoy your Asian seafood noodle soup!
